Tips to Rock your Blogging Success
Starting and maintaining a blog is an extremely effective way to promote yourself and your business website. After taking the time and effort to build a website, it makes sense to create a blog to support and promote it. A blog is a tremendous marketing tool but it is important to know how to maximise its potential.Gaining traction can be frustrating when you are doing things right, let alone when you are making a hash of it. If your blog does crash and burn, it is nothing to be ashamed of; you can always start a new blog with a fresh approach and focus on different topics. However, to increase your likelihood of blogging success, here are a few tips to rock your blogging success.
Stop pitching your readers at every opportunity
A quick way to alienate your readers is by bombarding them with sales pitches. People do not enjoy feeling like they are being ‘sold’ to. Blogs are not for selling, they are for sharing. Consider your blog posts as an opportunity to educate your customers and share your thoughts and ideas.
Stop talking about yourself
Take the spotlight off yourself and shine the spotlight on your readers. Provide them with answers to their questions. Provide them with helpful content and interesting insights.
Make your blog posts easy to share
Ensure that it is effortless and easy for readers to share your content. This means making sharing options clearly visible and easy to use.
Interact with your audience
The best way to interact with your audience is to ask them questions in your blog posts. Encourage them to leave comments. Always respond to comments and keep the conversation going. Don’t be afraid to be controversial as long as you can support your statements calmly and articulately.
Build a bridge with fellow bloggers
Invite other bloggers to contribute with a guest post for your blog. Don’t try to be a solitary blogging fortress. Form strategic alliances with your fellow bloggers. Interview influential bloggers in your industry and share the interview on your blog.
Keep it consistent
Building a blog and attracting a fan base takes time. Be patient and keep your blog posts consistent. You do not necessarily need to blog every day, but blog at least every couple of days. Failing to update your blog is a quick way to lose regular readers.
Support your words with images
Too much text can be a turn off for readers. Break up your text with some interesting images. A good image will attract readers to your articles. Consider images as the wrapping paper for your writing.
Know who you are talking to
It’s of utmost importance to know who your audience are so that you can tailor your writing to their needs. Take time to explore your target demographic and then focus on providing them with value. Ask your readers about themselves and learn as much about them as you can.
Have fun with your headlines
Experiment with the titles of your blog posts. Bland and boring is the safe option but it does not capture the audience’s attention.
Increase awareness of your blog
Make it easy to find your blog from your website, include a link to your blog in your email signature and proudly display it in your social media profiles. The more people that are aware of your blog, the more people that are likely to visit it. By sharing your blog link subtly, people will be inclined to click the link and visit your blog.
